About Senator Aguilar:

Irene Aguilar was born and raised in inner city Chicago, educated in Chicago Public Schools. She was the first in her family to complete college, attending Washington University in St. Louis on scholarship and then earning her medical degree from the University of Chicago-Pritzker School of Medicine. Irene spent her residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and went on to work at Denver’s Westside Family Health Center, where she has been a Primary Care Provider since 1989.

Irene has been married to Thomas Bost for 22 years and they have three children – Jonathan, Meg and Amy. Together they enjoy camping and hiking in Colorado’s mountain areas. Her daughter, Amelia Milagro (Amy) has developmental disabilities and has served as an inspiration for Irene's volunteer work on behalf of people with disabilities and in support of health care reform.

As a Senator Colorado, Irene is working to make Colorado a better place for all of its citizens by representing the people of Senate District 32 in the legislature.
