LITTLETON—Today, Senator Linda Newell (D-Littleton) visited businesses in her senate district to meet with business leaders and hear about their needs. Senator Newell’s district spans Littleton, Englewood, Sheridan, West Centennial, Cherry Hills Village, Columbine Valley, and Bow Mar, and it is home to a diverse business community, including three major hospitals and 31 auto dealerships. The district has more auto dealerships than any other district in the state.

Senator Newell offered the following comment about her tour:

“Connecting with business leaders in my district is extremely valuable so I can continue to sponsor and support legislation that strengthens Colorado businesses. Coloradans are some of the hardest working people, and it shows. It is great to hear that many of our businesses are now recovering and growing.”

Senator Newell has worked hard over the past four years in the Senate to support Colorado businesses and grow our economy. She sponsored the Colorado Innovation Investment Tax Credit, Skills for Jobs Act, the Film Production and Jobs Act, and the Colorado Business Retention and Expansion Program which are all major pieces of legislation that aim to support Colorado businesses, create jobs, and grow the economy. In addition to her work in the Legislature, Senator Newell has hosted multiple community events to help citizens start their own companies, grow their businesses, and land new contracts.

Sheridan Mayor, Dallas Hall, offered the following comment after joining Senator Newell at Red and Jerry’s Event Center on her tour:

"I am so grateful that Senator Newell would come to the city of Sheridan and tour our businesses. I am just so thankful for everything she has done for this city.”
