Senator Tochtrop continues as Business, Labor, and Technology chair

DENVER – Today, Senate Majority Leader Morgan Carroll (D-Aurora) announced that Senator Lois Tochtrop (D-Thornton) will continue as chair of the Business, Labor, and Technology committee.  Senator Carroll also released her entire list of committee chairs, vice chairs, and Democratic members today for the 69th General Assembly, which will convene on January 9, 2013.

Senator Tochtrop is a registered nurse with expertise in operating long-term care facilities.  Her background as a former Director of Nursing taught her how to run an efficient operation.  Those skills are transferable to her work on the Business, Labor, and Technology committee, as well as her overall work as a state Senator. 

“I am looking forward to the upcoming session.  The Business, Labor, and Technology committee is ready to examine legislation under the lens of economic growth, efficiency, and how it helps Colorado families.  We will certainly have important work to do,” said Senator Tochtrop.   

In addition to chairing the Business, Labor, and Technology committee, Senator Tochtrop is the chair of the Sportsmen’s Caucus.  She is an avid outdoorswoman who enjoys horseback riding and camping.    

Senator Tochtrop lives in Thornton, and serves Senate District 24.  She has been married for 51 years, and is the mother of three adult sons.
