Pres. Shaffer meets First Lady Michelle Obama

President Brandon Shaffer (D-Longmont) greets U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama on the tarmac at Buckley Air Force Base on November 16, 2009. 

Michelle Obama was here to bring her White House leadership and mentoring initiative to Denver on Monday. Local and national women leaders and metro-area students met at the Governor's Residence for a midday discussion along with Colorado First Lady Jeanne Ritter. Afterwards, each of the women leaders visited local schools to share their stories, discuss their careers and answer student questions. Mrs. Ritter visited Regis Jesuit High School and with actress Alfre Woodard.

Increase marketing efforts in other states
Improve education and training for workers
Provide grants to businesses in growing industries
Offer tax breaks to businesses
