Governor Hickenlooper to sign bill by Senator Newell to reform discipline in schools Monday

Senator Newell will join Governor at Arvada High School for signing of Senate Bill 133
ARVADA— Monday, May 23, Senator Linda Newell (D-Littleton) will join Governor John Hickenlooper for the signing of Senate Bill 133, a bill which seeks to improve disciplinary policies in Colorado public schools. The bill will help find ways for Colorado to reduce the student dropout rate, make schools safer and more effective and reduce the number of youth entering the juvenile and criminal justice systems. Senate Bill 133 was also sponsored in the Senate by Senator Evie Hudak (D-Arvada).
The bill signing will be held at Arvada High School at 5:00 p.m.
