New Members Will Chart New Path
DENVER— Today, the Senate confirmed three appointees to the Board of Directors for Pinnacol Assurance, the state-chartered workers compensation insurance company. The three appointees, chosen by Governor John Hickenlooper, are John Cevette, Blair Richardson, and John Plotkin. Cevette and Richardson will serve on the Board as employee representatives; Plotkin will serve on the Board as an employer representative.
Each of the three appointees confirmed today has expressed a firm commitment to strengthening Pinnacol and supporting its mission to serve injured workers and provide affordable coverage for Colorado businesses.
The appointment of John Cevette has garnered the most attention. Cevette, like many Coloradans, has been critical of Pinnacol’s use of premiums paid by Colorado business owners to fund expensive luxury vacations.
Cevette has a long and distinguished career in both the public and private sectors. His experience as a CEO, his understanding of corporate governance, and his knowledge of the insurance industry make him an outstanding choice for Pinnacol’s board.
Cevette offered the following comment regarding his confirmation to the Pinnacol Board:
“I am honored to be confirmed as a member of the board of Pinnacol. As a board member, I look forward to supporting Pinnacol’s mission to serve injured workers and provide affordable coverage for employers.”
