Colorado State Senator Cheri JahnDENVER – Senator Cheri Jahn (D-Wheat Ridge) has shown strong support for a new program put together by the Colorado Bankers Association and other groups, to help small businesses get ahead. SmallBizLending.org is a public and private collaboration to help small businesses in Colorado find the resources and information they need to make important financial decisions. As a small business owner herself, Senator Jahn has been a strong advocate for creating a supportive business environment and helping business owners reach their potential.

Senator Jahn offered the following comment on the creation of SmallBizLending.org:

“Small businesses are our job creators and our economic drivers. Innovative and collaborative public - private partnerships like this are exactly what we should be looking at as we continue working to rebuild our economy and get Coloradans back to work.”

Many small businesses are looking for ways to expand and invest in new projects. This program provides small business owners with financial planning tips, lists of available private, public and not for profit lending options, as well as options for businesses unable to obtain loans. SmallBizLending.org works with small business owners to help them find the tools necessary to grow and create new jobs.

This program was also established with the help of Americans for Community Co-operation in Other Nations (ACCION), the Colorado Enterprise Fund, the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority, Colorado Lending Source, Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade, Colorado Small Business Development Centers, Denver Office of Economic Development, Economic Development Council of Colorado, Federal Reserve Bank – Denver Branch, the Mile High Community Loan Fund, Rocky Mountain Micro Finance Institute, SCORE Colorado, and the Small Business Administration of Colorado.
